Amy has fears and insecurities that any normal shy fourteen-year-old girl might. Her outgoing and impulsive little brother Dan (eleven) is trying because of this. They make a good team, and you want to read more, but even beyond that, the 39 clues is written so well that you only know enough to keep you going, and you never know too much.
